Fresh Snow In Muskoka
It snowed over night and most of the day Monday and Tuesday this week. Although it is like a beautiful winter wonderland, it is not what I was wanting on April 15th 2014
I was expecting to be examining my Lady’s Mantle peeking its bright green heads up in the garden. Speaking of gardens, we have had a lot of rodent damage to our shrubs. This happens frequently during the very harsh winters.
I think we will have lost a gorgeous big lilac on which the rabbits have totally girdled the trunks. I will wait to see if I get some shoots coming up below the girdling, however it is likely lost and will have to be replaced.
We are supposed to get quite warm weather for the next few days and so there will be a lot of snow melting. Although I am longing for warm days, I do hope it happens slowly, so that we do not have the same type of flooding that occurred last spring. Lake Muskoka has had its water level dropped significantly lower, however, there was a lot of snow, and if we get rain and warm weather at the same time, the result could be flooding.
Make sure you are prepared in advance, as much as possible.
